2023 BTS’ V Joins Special Task Force: Military Enlistment Imminent, Reports Say

Amidst preparations for their mandatory military service, BTS members, including V, are gearing up for a new phase in their lives. While details about their enlistment date are still under consideration, the focus is now on Kim Taehyung, popularly known as V, who is reported to join the Special Task Force (SDT) of the Army’s Capital Defense Command.

Enlistment Details

BTS V is expected to report to the Nonsan Training Center on December 11 for basic military training, following which he will be assigned to the Special Task Force. The SDT, known for handling high-stakes operations such as hostage rescues, counter-insurgency, and counter-terrorism missions, also plays a crucial role in VIP security and executes special operations under the directives of the Republic of Korea (ROK) President.

BIGHIT MUSIC, the management company of BTS, has not officially confirmed these reports, emphasizing the need for caution. In response to the widespread speculations, the company issued a brief statement stating its inability to verify any information regarding the members’ duties.

BTS Members’ Military Positions

Recent reports indicated that Jimin and Jungkook have been accepted into the Army’s 5th Infantry Division boot camp. Notably, Jin, the oldest member of BTS, is already working at the same division as an assistant trainer, raising the possibility of him eventually training his fellow bandmates. Both Jimin and Jungkook are expected to commence their basic training from December 12. Meanwhile, RM and V will jointly enter the Nonsan Training Center on December 11.

In September of this year, SUGA began fulfilling his mandatory public service obligations, while J-hope is serving as an assistant instructor at the New Recruit Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon province. It’s worth noting that Suga is not in the military but is working in the public sector due to a shoulder ailment.
