UIDAI allows residents to verify their email and mobile numbers seeded with Aadhaar

Must read

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) announced the addition of a new facility on its website and mobile app to enable residents to verify their mobile numbers and email IDs linked with their Aadhaar. This development came after the Aadhaar custodian noticed that some residents were unsure which mobile numbers were seeded to their Aadhaar, which led to concerns that the Aadhaar OTP might be going to a different mobile number.

According to a statement released by UIDAI, residents can quickly check this information through the “Verify email/mobile Number” feature on the official website or the mAadhaar app. The part confirms to the resident that the email or mobile number linked with their Aadhaar is accurate. Additionally, the facility notifies the resident if a specific mobile number is not connected and advises them to update it if they wish.

The statement also noted that if the mobile number is verified, residents will see a message on their screen stating that “the mobile number you entered is already verified with our records.” If a resident does not remember the mobile number used during enrolment, they can check the last three digits of the mobile number on the Verify Aadhaar feature on the Myaadhaar portal or mAadhaar app.

To link an email or mobile number with Aadhaar, residents must visit the nearest Aadhaar center. This new facility aims to make it easier for residents to verify and update their information, ensuring greater accuracy and security of their Aadhaar data.
