In April, TVS Motor recorded the highest domestic growth among major two-wheeler makers, with a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 29% by selling 232,956 two-wheelers in India. On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler maker in the country, experienced a 3.1% YoY decline in domestic sales, with 386,184 units sold. Hero MotoCorp stated that it anticipates momentum to build up in the upcoming months due to various factors, such as new product launches, healthy GDP growth, and positive consumer sentiments. Despite factors like inflation and high acquisition costs, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) saw a 6.1% YoY increase in domestic sales, with 338,289 units sold, while Royal Enfield experienced a 27.9% YoY jump in domestic sales, with 68,881 units sold.
